Biography

Ben, serves as volunteer co-chaplain for the Portland Timbers of Major League Soccer, a position he has held since 2010.

Ben’s main job is serving as the Executive Director of Free Guitars 4 Kids. He was formerly the Vice President of the West Territory for the Positive Coaching Alliance. Ben is also on the team of collaborators for the Faith & Sports Institute at Baylor University’s Truett Theological Seminary.

Ben is a graduate of Baylor University, with a Church Recreation and Leisure Services Degree. He completed a Masters of Arts and Global Leadership Degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. He grew up a multi-sport athlete with soccer being his favorite. Having traveled to many parts of the world, Ben quickly realized that knowing the language of sports allows you to communicate with anyone in the world. He has dedicated his life to serving people and believes that sport is a very powerful way to help make a difference.  

Ben enjoys writing and recording music, playing guitar, attending concerts and playing soccer. He is happily married to his wife, Jamie, and they have two boys, Nolan and Griffin.
