Erick Jiménez is a native of El Paso, Texas and serves as Minister of Discipleship at First Baptist Church of El Paso. He holds a Masters of Theological Studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is a candidate for a Master’s of Divinity with an anticipated graduation in 2022.

As part of Soccer Chaplains United, Erick serves as volunteer chaplain to El Paso Locomotive FC, a team in the USL—Championship, a role he started in 2020.

Prior to joining First Baptist and Soccer Chaplains United, Erick has worked in several church, ministry, and educational contexts including serving at Coronado Baptist Church in El Paso, working at Howard Payne University as an Admissions and Academic Counselor, serving as FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) chaplain at UTEP and as an area representative, and working with the young adults at Southcliff Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX, among other roles.

As a former collegiate athlete (American football), Erick’s interests include sports, working out, learning carpentry, playing video games, spending time with his wife, Jordan, and four children, and reading.
