This was one of our first projects of the 2015 season.The Timothy Project sent shoes and equipment and balls - as well as about 50 copies of The Prize to be given away to the children that are part of the academy.   • For Pastor Chris Piehl, the recent trip with Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church to Kampala, Uganda was eye-opening on several different fronts - from the sparse "field" conditions to the giving away of soccer uniforms to some of the ministry partners that work with local youth in Kampala. Pastor Piehl and Cherry Creek Presbyterian reached out to CrossTraining via the Timothy Project to see if there was any soccer equipment and gear that the team could take with them to Uganda.   • This year, the Timothy Project has already gone to Czech Republic, Haiti, Guatemala, and Uganda - there are more destinations on the horizon - from the farmlands of Leoti, Kansas to the high desert of Juarez, Mexico. CrossTraining uses a percentage of its annual contributions to help fund projects and pay for costs associated with getting equipment into the hand of mission teams that are working with people around the world.   • Danny Brooks and the team from Valor Christian High School have returned from Guatemala where they took soccer equipment donations via CrossTraining's Timothy Project. Brooks shared this update from their trip and the time that the student team spent in country: Our soccer ministry was one of the most impactful components of our ministry this summer in Guatemala.   Over the 28 days, we gave out various soccer balls in different villages and schools.   • The Timothy Project launched out it's first project fulfillment of 2015. A couple boxes of soccer equipment for the Stephane Guillaume Academy (Timothy Project: SGA Haiti 2015) are currently on their way to Florida, where Stephane will pack items to take to the children back in his home country of Haiti. CrossTraining supporters will recall last December's story which featured the former Colorado Rapids player who is currently playing for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers. Stephane has always had a heart for giving back to his community and the children where he grew up. Amongst the donations sent to Stephane were a mix of new and used boots (shoes), shorts, training tops, socks, and balls - as well as about 50 copies of
