Biography

A native of Denver, CO, Brad grew up in Arizona and Michigan, before retuning to his native Colorado. He is a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. After a brief stint trying to break into the film industry, he returned to Colorado and began working at a television station. He later began working for the Colorado Rapids as a Public/Media Relations Assistant and then as the interim Public/Media Relations Director. It was during this time that Brad felt called to enter into full-time vocational ministry. He resigned from the Rapids to attend Denver Seminary in 2001. His first day of classes was on the infamous 9/11.

Six months into seminary, God opened the door for Brad to return to the Rapids as the volunteer Team Chaplain, a position he continues to serve in to this day. In 2002, he founded CrossTraining Ministries and officially registered the non-profit in 2005. In 2017, he led the organization through a rebrand to what is, today, known as Soccer Chaplains United.

Brad is affectionately known to many football (soccer) players, coaches, and staff simply as “Rev.”

Brad has a Master of Divinity with a specialty in chaplaincy from Denver Seminary. He is ordained with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (2013). He has served as pastor of care at Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch, CO (2009-2015) and as an assistant pastor of care at Eastern Hills Community Church in Aurora, CO (2005-2009) as well as a chaplain in hospice care for the now defunct Hospice of Saint John (2005-2009) during his years as an avocational chaplain.

Today, Brad is responsible (along with the Board of Directors) to raise his own salary and the general operating costs of Soccer Chaplains United. In addition to leading and providing the direct chaplaincy care to the Colorado Rapids, Brad works to discover, develop, and deploy chaplains in soccer at all levels and across different expressions of the game — primarily in North America, at this time.

Married since 2001, to Adriana, he is father of four precious daughters.

In his spare time, Brad enjoys playing disc golf, Kubb, soccer, learning guitar, writing, camping, and spending time with his family. He’s also been known to jump on the Xbox for a bit of gaming.

His favorite teams beside the Rapids, include Manchester United FC, the Denver Broncos, Phoenix Suns, and Colorado Avalanche.
