A native of Denver, CO, Brad Kenney graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, and later began working for the Colorado Rapids as a Public Relations Assistant and then as interim Director. Feeling called to full-time vocational ministry, Brad resigned from the Rapids and went to Denver Seminary in 2001. His first day of classes was 9/11.
Six months into seminary, God opened the door for Brad to return to the Rapids as the volunteer Team Chaplain, a position he continues to serve in to this day. In 2005, he founded CrossTraining Ministries and in 2017 led the organization through a rebrand as Soccer Chaplains United.
Brad is affectionately known to many players, coaches, and staff as “Rev.”
Brad has a Master of Divinity with a specialty in chaplaincy from Denver Seminary and is ordained with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He has served as pastor of care at Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch, CO (2009-2015) and as an assistant pastor of care at Eastern Hills Community Church in Aurora, CO (2005-2009) as well as a chaplain in hospice care for the now defunct Hospice of Saint John (2005-2009).
Married since 2001, to Adriana, he is father of four precious daughters. The family dog also known as “Rev” helps Brad cope!
