  • This past Sunday, the Valor Costa Rica Discovery Team gathered to pack for the trip. All of the collected soccer gear had to be crammed into bags and distributed as the team prepares to head down to Costa Rica. While there, the team will build a couple of homes and host a number of soccer camps and clinics. Parents and families of the team members came later to pray over and commission the team before leaving.   • Soccer Chaplains United is pleased to announce the approval and placement of Billy Cerveny to serve as chaplain for Nashville SC. Billy is a long-time Nashville resident and a pastor at Midtown Fellowship Church. Before becoming a pastor, Billy was a Nashville singer and songwriter as well as a writer and television producer. He co-wrote the book “Take The Walk” with the band Hanson.   He comes to Soccer Chaplains United after our 6-month search stretching back to August of 2017. The placement has taken an extra amount of time as Nashville SC was recently awarded an expansion placement with Major League Soccer (MLS).  The team will begin play in the United Soccer League (USL) until the team makes the transition

  • Timothy Project: Valor Christian High School, Kolkata, India 2018.  A vision was cast years ago by a Valor Christian High School Discovery team that has taken root and is beginning to become a reality.  The next team of students and teachers to travel to the slums of Kolkata will continue to grow the boy's soccer program with the dream of establishing a fully sustainable soccer club. Valor alumni, teachers and students desire to reach the boys of the slum with the gospel message.  This is challenging, and retaining them is even more challenging.  John DeYoung, a Valor teacher, came up with an idea that could help solve the dilemma, a soccer program.
