Biography
Marco serves as the Lead Pastor at First Covenant Church in Oakland, CA. He is an ordained minister in the Evangelical Covenant Church since 2010.
Marco enjoys helping people hear God in fresh ways, and having faith and life conversations with people from different backgrounds. The child of Mexican and Nicaraguan immigrants, Marco grew up as a pastor’s kid, worship leader, and preacher in the Latino Pentecostal church in Texas, Louisiana, and California.
Marco holds a B.A. in Pastoral Studies from Patten University and an M.Div from Fuller Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Nicole, along with their teenage children, love calling Oakland their home.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, sports, playing music, reading, playing nerdy board games and occasionally roasting coffee in his backyard.
Marco is the volunteer chaplain to Oakland Roots SC since 2026.
