Metamorphosis to Host Timothy Project Drive

Mar 31, 2016

Glory Revealed picOn Friday, April 22, several hundred youth in the Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina area will gather for the annual Metamorphosis weekend. Weekend attendees this year, though, will be encouraged to come to the weekend event (hosted at several local area churches) with something a bit unique: soccer gear for the Timothy Project. Specifically, gear and equipment that will be collected for the recently announced Timothy Project for Senegal.

CrossTraining’s Board Chair, Cliff Burton, initiated the idea.

We can see God’s hands in it all.. When the Senegal request for for soccer gear came in to the Timothy Project, we had no idea that the container would be leaving  from so close to this youth event.

The Metamorphosis weekend (nicknamed “Meta”) will see nearly 700 youth in attendance at different churches. The collection will be a service project for the youth of Revolve church in Durham, NC as Revolve students will be assisting in the collection. Burton expressed his hope for the project,

Our youth will be collecting soccer gear for an event that is attended by over 700 youth in the Durham area…We hope to collect at least 200 pairs of soccer shoes to send to Senegal.

Would you help us spread the word? If you have friends or family or churches in the Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina area please let them know about this exciting event and the collection for Senegal.
