Soccer Chaplains United

United by a common code and a shared vision
to provide spiritual care, wise counsel, and meaningful service for soccer

ABOUT US

Soccer Chaplains United is a Christian organization dedicated to providing spiritual care, wise counsel, and meaningful service to those in the world of soccer.

Our primary emphasis is on chaplaincy development that considers and cares for the whole person — whether an athlete, coach, staff member, official, alumni, fan, or family member. We train our chaplains to pastorally and spiritually care for the greater soccer community.

Soccer Chaplains United also facilitates meaningful service opportunities between the faith and soccer community. Through our Community Project initiatives  we resource different groups with new and used soccer gear to affect change locally and globally.

Soccer Chaplains United is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization.

ColoradoGives represents a helpful opportunity to give. Since our non-profit is based in Colorado we are eligible to participate in ColoradoGives Day (today, December 9). This year, we are hoping to raise $15k during this day to help us with our end-of-year fundraising. There are some opportunities for donor generosity to be multiplied on ColoradoGives […]

Pause a Minute to Peruse Peru: An Update

Soccer Chaplains United Chaplain Greg Aydt took a few minutes, recently to share an update from this past summer’s trip to Peru. You can see the gear we packed out for Saint Patricks Presbyterian from our previous story. Greg shared the following highlights: When you financially support Soccer Chaplains United a portion of your gift […]

Giving Season begins in advance of ColoradoGives Day!

Soccer Chaplains United, like many Colorado-based non-profits participates in ColoradoGives Day. ColoradoGives Day is part of the ColoradoGives program sponsored by Community First Foundation. Through ColoradoGives.org donors and philanthropic-minded people can support local, Colorado-based non-profits that meet certain criteria. Those nonprofits are then eligible to receive a portion of an incentive fund that adds to […]

Iglesia Cristiana Bethel in El Paso, Texas is starting a new soccer club as part of the ministry of the church. The club will look to include girls from the ages of 7-11 years old. A Case for Support — Encouraging Consideration to Join the Team

For many years, I simply introduced myself as “Chaplain to the Colorado Rapids.” That is until someone asked me how much my typical position paid. Whoops! I explained that I am a volunteer and I raise support (like a missionary) to do the work I do and am in no way funded by the team […]

It Takes Time to Cook. Lessons for Thanksgiving

Here in the United States, we observe the holiday of Thanksgiving. It’s a time when family and friends come together and give thanks and share a table. More and more these days, though, we can lose sight of the time and preparation that it can take for a good meal to be prepared, cooked, and […]

Ready, Set, Retreat! Brief Lessons on Getting Away.

Getting away is a hard but necessary thing, especially when you’re in a caregiving kind of role. Jesus knew that he needed to get away and to get rest and he knew that his followers and friends needed to get rest and a bit of retreat. And even though Jesus never really gets the rest […]

Lost Sons: Elder Son Mentalities

Every year, around the middle of November, I usually highlight some aspect of the life and work of Saint Martin of Tours. Saint Martin’s story is where the origins of our English words, chapel and chaplain come from. His most poignent moment, perhaps, is when he robes a distressed man in the cold of winter. […]

All Saints Day: Colorado Rapids Community

November 1 in the church calendar is All Saints Day. It is a time to acknowledge all known and unknown saints throughout all moments in time. Often times, church communities will take some time on the Sunday closest to November 1 to honor, recognize, and commemorate those who have “gone before,” the “communion of saints,” […]
