• Ann Nerney is headed to Mexico, again - this the second time in 2015 as she looks to lead a team of singles from Cherry Hills Community Church down to Juarez, Mexico to work with the poor, love on the children, and leave things just a little bit better than when they arrived. You will remember that Nerney has lead other teams that utilized the Timothy Project. For Ann and the team, they know that the soccer shoes and balls mean a lot to the children of Juarez who have next to nothing. For these children, soccer is a special way for the team to connect and for them to build relationships with each other. Soccer provides and ideal outlet

  • What can a ball do? A ball can be a bridge. A ball can break language and cultural barriers. A ball can do a lot. The team has been going to Czech Republic for a number of years now, but not until 2012 did the annual trip utilize soccer and a soccer camp to reach out to children and the young people in the community of Pisek. From June 28- July 5, a team of 8 people - featuring six players and two coaches will travel as part of a larger team from Cherry Hills Community Church (CHCC) in Highlands Ranch, Colorado to their partner church Elim Evangelical Church (EEC) to host soccer camps which are designed to give children an opportunity to start building a foundation

  • The Colorado Rapids recently announced the trade of long-time player and captain Pablo Mastroeni. Mastroeni was the longest-tenured player with the Rapids and served as team captain since 2004. Mastroeni came to the Rapids as part of the Major League Soccer (MLS) contraction which occurred in 2001 and in his letter to the fans, he shares some of what Colorado has meant over the past 12 years. Some of you know that I serve, also on staff at Cherry Hills Community Church as a pastor in pastoral care. Because of church finances and transition, the church recently had to lay off several employees and a couple of pastors as well. Some at Cherry Hills had served on staff for over 10
